Discovering Your Purpose in God’s Presence

As I closed the final chapter of The Well-Watered Woman   yesterday, I experienced a bittersweet moment. In a rush to return the ebook, I realized I had lost all my highlights—a treasure trove of insights dissipated in an instant! Yet as I pause, I’m reminded that the true essence of what I've learned remains ingrained in my heart. At this chapter of my life, I find myself grappling with a central question that many women face: What is my purpose?

The Quest for Purpose: A Common Journey

The yearning for purpose is something that flows through the lives of many women. Whether you're navigating through moments of uncertainty, or perhaps you’re in a place where you’re ready to embrace your calling—know this: you're not alone. For me, questions about women’s ministry, worship, or even simply living out my faith in day-to-day life fill my thoughts. It’s powerful to identify this thirst for God and for a deeper connection with His plans for us.

As I delve into new readings like A Life You Love  and Fully Alive , I cling to the hope that each page will guide me closer to understanding God’s divine purpose for my life. Perhaps you're in a similar situation—excited yet apprehensive about what comes next. Embrace that tension; it’s often where transformation begins.

A Reflective Heart: From Past to Purpose

Philippians 3:7-10, 12 echoes in my mind: “But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ... that I may gain Christ and be found in Him…” This passage encapsulates my heart's cry. In the past, things like relationships, material wealth, and fleeting pleasures held a grip on my life. Over time, I’ve come to realize that nothing compares to the richness of knowing Christ.

This resonates with so many of us. We live in a world pulling our attention in countless directions, often convincing us that success lies in tangible achievements or superficial validations. But the true victory comes when we prioritize our walk with God above all else.

Living for God in Every Moment

The call to live deliberately in every aspect of our lives—washing dishes, performing tasks, or engaging with our community—is a divine mandate. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” This call shifts our perspective, inviting us to approach daily chores as sacred acts of worship.

As I seek to align my thoughts and actions more with Christ’s example, I ask the Holy Spirit to transform my mind and heart. It’s an ongoing journey—one that requires daily surrender and an open heart to learning and growth. Remember, it’s okay to release the burdens of perfection. The journey toward purpose is not a sprint but a gradual ascent, often filled with both successes and struggles.

Surrendering to the Divine

In moments of prayer, my heart spills out thankfulness: “Father, you see me—every aspect, good and bad. Cleanse my thoughts, guide my steps, and show me the world through Your eyes.” This beautifully echoes James 1:5, which reassures us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously…”

Surrendering our desires, aspirations, and fears to God draws us closer to His will. We can lean on Him, acknowledging that we can’t navigate this path alone. It's a dance of faith, trust, and continual learning.

One Day at a Time: Embracing the Journey

For every woman yearning to discover her purpose or to step deeper into her calling—take heart. It’s a journey that unfolds day by day, moment by moment. Embrace the learning, the growing, and even the unlearning of parts of yourself that no longer serve the divine plans laid out for you. Each small step counts.

Your light for Jesus will shine as you take these steps in faith. When others see you, may they see not just you—but the reflection of Christ whose love and grace fuels your actions. Together, let’s walk this path of discovering purpose, always anchored in prayer and deep connection with God.

In Conclusion: Fully Alive in Him

Today, I’m reminded that the pursuit of a fulfilling life anchored in God is not just for a select few—it’s for all of us. As we learn, grow, and share our journeys, let’s commit to nurturing those aspirations in ourselves and one another. Hold fast to your faith, embrace your calling, and shine your light brightly. After all, you are fearfully and wonderfully made, designed with purpose.

So, dear sisters, let’s embark on this beautiful journey together, trusting God to lead us into a future beyond our wildest dreams. In His grace, we’ll find our true purpose—today, tomorrow, and every day after. Amen.
